# torwache

> torwache is a free, open-source Chrome extension that blocks a local list of websites. It has no account, cloud sync, advertising, or telemetry inside the extension.

torwache is deliberately narrow: a user adds a domain, chooses whether to include subdomains, and turns the rule on or off. Chrome enforces the active rules locally. The website and the extension are separate surfaces; only the website uses Fathom Analytics for aggregate page views.
